Office of Admissions

University of Arkansas

Fayetteville, AR 72701

Dear Office of Admissions,

I am writing to express my interest in going to your college. I’ve been told by a sibling of one of your current students about your excellent nursing programs. Throughout my high school career, I’ve been through classes to prepare me for your courses.  I’ve seen on many websites while I was researching for colleges with great nursing programs in the U.S, to see your college come up.

Ever since I was a child, I wanted to pursue my career as an Oncology Nurse. After my older cousin was diagnosed with Leukemia, I found out about doctors and nurses that helped her get better and decided when I was older I wanted to be just like them. According to my résumé I graduated with honors, which makes me a perfect addition to your college.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Kayleigh Campbell

Swallowing Stones Book Review

“Swallowing Stones” by Joyce McDonald is will make you feel for the characters even though some of them have done wrong. It all begins when Michael McKenzie and his best friend, Joe Sadowski, go to the woods at the back of Michael’s house to fire his grandfather’s winchester that Michael got for his birthday. But, little did Michael know… he killed a man. Michael is the type character that you feel for in this novel, even though he killed a man. The man who was struck by the flying bullet was Jenna’s father. Jenna is the character that is going through hurt and pain even though she knew Michael was the killer all along. Jenna was going outside to tell her father that lunch was ready, but then she witnessed her father falling off the roof with a bullet wound in the back of his skull. Michael ends up covering up his illegal mistake with more and more illegal lies. Michael and Jenna found peace in Amy Ruggerio. She was always there when needed until one day Michael ran into her car. Joe was drunk from drinking one too many beers and began to beat on Amy’s car windshield. Michael tried pulling out Amy, but she wouldn’t budge. The glass shattered all over Amy as cries of terror came out of her. Michael began to sit in front of Jenna’s House ever since he found out where she lived. Amy stopped talking to Michael for awhile, until one day Michael tried to tell her what he had done, but she already knew and kept his secret for all this time. Did Michael ever tell the cops he’s guilty? “Swallowing Stones” was super suspenseful for me, every chapter left you on a cliff-hanger. I didn’t like the ending too well, if I was the author I would go a little further into depth on the end. But, besides that, it was an amazing book! This book might have been written in 1997, but it still has a modern feel. I give this book a raiding of five-stars. If you could get your hands on this book, I would recommend you reading and experiencing the suspenseful turns in this book.

Hey everyone! I’m back and posting again!

A Field Trip to Remember

Have you ever wanted to see where Yogi and Booboo the bear lived? They live in Yellowstone National Park, where billions of bear sightings are every year! We would have a exciting and educational experiences. That’s why I suggest to go to Yellowstone National Park.

Maybe we should have a picnic once we get there because we might be hungry from the long trip to Yellowstone. Another thing we could do is go camping. Yellowstone has one of the most magnificent camping grounds. We could make s’mores around the campfire! Hearing a ‘’POP’’and ‘’CRACK’’ from the roaring fire and feeling its warm flames. Just don’t touch the warm flames or it will give you a burn!

In the meantime we could go see Old Faithful, which is a geyser located there in Yellowstone. This is one of the greatest tourist attractions of all time.

Most importantly we need to see the animals! You will see breathtaking deer, bears, buffalo, and birds! We could figure out what time Old Faithful’s water will shoot up again. Just don’t feed the animals there or they might steal your lovely lunch!

‘’Well kids I hope you had a exciting and educational experience at Yellowstone. And I enjoyed all your lovely picnic baskets,’’said Yogi the bear. This is the best trip we could ever be on.I hope you guys will have an awesome time too!

Snow Day

Going out in the snow

and drinking hot coco

these are the times

that seem fun

Until snow balls fall

on everyone.

One after another

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Snow dust falling

and seeing its beautiful gleam.

HURRY! HURRY!

got to keep up

or you’re going down in dust.

Like guns POW! POW! POW!

then you end up

getting another and another.

The war isn’t over

until you get buried

more and more.

Let’s go inside

and perhaps have a s’more.
